Meet the team!
Rupert is a fun, energetic photographer and filmmaker who loves capturing people as they truly are. His work blends authenticity with an editorial touch, creating timeless imagery filled with genuine emotion. Though often a quiet “fly on the wall” approach (some might say ninja-like), he moves through the day quietly, anticipating moments before they happen and preserving them with honesty and heart. But don’t be fooled, he is outgoing, chatty with guests, and once the dance floor opens, he’s right in the middle of it all, cameras in hand, documenting every epic move and moment with heart and energy.

Marlon
Rupert and Marlon are both from Baguio (BAG-ee-oh) City, which is a mountainous town in the Philippines known as the “City of Pines” due to its abundance of pine trees. Rupert and Marlon were acquaintances in elementary school, where they shared the same gym areas and cafeterias but were never in the same classes. Fast forward to 2009, when they reunited in Toronto, Canada, and discovered they shared the same interests in food, sneakers, and streetwear. Rupert then introduced Marlon to the world of photography. They often found themselves endlessly exploring the city, capturing whatever they could on their cameras and sometimes their iPhones. After countless hours of “working” together, they decided to team up and pursue wedding storytelling. With Rupert as the lead photographer and Marlon as the lead filmmaker, they created Pines & Maple as an homage to their origin and their future here in Canada. Their years of experience coupled with their outgoing personality and documentary-style filmmaking, make them a great asset to have on your wedding day! While weddings are usually full work days for them, you’ll still find them vibing with you and your guests at the end of the night!
